IRONPACK

Angled Leg Press

Muscles worked: Quads, Glutes.

How to do it

  1. Sit into the 45 degree sled with your back and hips flat against the pad.
  2. Place your feet mid-platform, about shoulder-width, and release the safeties.
  3. Lower until your thighs come near your chest, keeping your hips planted.
  4. Stop before your lower back rounds off the pad - that is your depth.
  5. Drive back up through mid-foot without locking the knees out hard.

Coaching cues

The two cues IronPack shows on this exercise's card mid-workout:

Logging it

IronPack suggests working in the 8 to 12 rep range, progressing in 10 kg jumps when you own the top of the range. Records are tracked automatically at every rep count from 1 to 12. Check your estimated 1RM from any hard set.
