IRONPACK

Horizontal Leg Press

Muscles worked: Quads, Glutes.

How to do it

  1. Sit with the pad against your back and your feet flat on the plate.
  2. Set the seat so your knees start bent at roughly 90 degrees.
  3. Push the plate away smoothly until your legs are almost straight.
  4. Bend the knees and return under control to the start.
  5. The stack is lighter than a sled, so control the reps rather than chasing weight.

Coaching cues

The two cues IronPack shows on this exercise's card mid-workout:

Logging it

IronPack suggests working in the 10 to 15 rep range, progressing in 5 kg jumps when you own the top of the range. Records are tracked automatically at every rep count from 1 to 12. Check your estimated 1RM from any hard set.
