IRONPACK

Iso-Lateral Leg Press

Muscles worked: Quads (assisted by glutes, hamstrings).

How to do it

  1. Sit into the machine with your back flat and a foot on each sled.
  2. Set your feet mid-platform with your heels flat.
  3. Lower one or both sleds under control to your working depth.
  4. Drive back up with the knees tracking over the toes.
  5. One sled per leg means no favouring the strong side. Weight is per side.

Coaching cues

The two cues IronPack shows on this exercise's card mid-workout:

Logging it

IronPack suggests working in the 10 to 15 rep range, progressing in 5 kg jumps when you own the top of the range. Records are tracked automatically at every rep count from 1 to 12. Check your estimated 1RM from any hard set.
