IRONPACK

Kettlebell Halo

Muscles worked: Front delts (assisted by side delts, traps).

How to do it

  1. Hold a kettlebell upside down by the horns at chest height.
  2. Brace your midsection and keep your ribs down.
  3. Circle the bell around your head, keeping it close the whole way.
  4. Come back to the front and reverse the direction.
  5. Go slow and tight - this is shoulder prep and control, not a strength lift.

Coaching cues

The two cues IronPack shows on this exercise's card mid-workout:

Logging it

IronPack suggests working in the 8 to 12 rep range, progressing in 2 kg jumps when you own the top of the range. Records are tracked automatically at every rep count from 1 to 12. Check your estimated 1RM from any hard set.
