Landmine Press
Muscles worked: Front delts (assisted by chest, triceps).
How to do it
- Wedge a barbell into a landmine sleeve or a corner and load the free end.
- Take the end of the bar in one hand at shoulder height, standing square or in a short stagger.
- Brace your ribs down so you do not lean back under the load.
- Press up and slightly forward, following the natural arc of the bar.
- Lower to the shoulder under control, then finish all reps before swapping sides.
Coaching cues
The two cues IronPack shows on this exercise's card mid-workout:
- Press up and slightly forward along the bar
- Brace the ribs - no lean-back
Logging it
IronPack suggests working in the 8 to 12 rep range, progressing in 2.5 kg jumps when you own the top of the range. Records are tracked automatically at every rep count from 1 to 12. Check your estimated 1RM from any hard set.
