Leg Extension
Muscles worked: Quads.
How to do it
- For this exercise you will need to use a leg extension machine.
- Using your quadriceps, extend your legs to the maximum as you exhale.
- Slowly lower the weight back to the original position as you inhale, ensuring that you do not go past the 90-degree angle limit.
- Repeat for the recommended amount of times.
Coaching cues
The two cues IronPack shows on this exercise's card mid-workout:
- Toes pointed slightly out
- Pause at full extension - squeeze the quad
Logging it
IronPack suggests working in the 10 to 15 rep range, progressing in 5 kg jumps when you own the top of the range. Records are tracked automatically at every rep count from 1 to 12. Check your estimated 1RM from any hard set.
